Canon Michael was born and
raised in Belfast, N. Ireland. He trained for the ministry of the Church of
Ireland at Trinity College, Dublin and was ordained in 1966. He served briefly
in Belfast before moving to Montreal in 1968. Canon Michael then moved to St Catharines (Diocese of Niagara) in 1970. He served several parishes in the
Niagara area until his retirement in 2006.
Canon Michael and his
wife, Olive, moved to Kanata in 2011. They are parents of three children; Peter
(Jennifer) in Scarborough, Ontario; Catherine (Julias) in Munich, Germany; and
Janet (Michael) in Ottawa. They are also grandparents to five grandchildren;
Laura & Mara in Scarborough; Nicolas & Henrik in Munich; and Christopher in

appointed Honorary Assistant at St Thomas, Stittsville in March, 2012.
